Las elecciones presidenciales en Colombia despiertan hoy inquietudes, temores y esperanzas. Son, quizás, las que mayor interés generan en el continente americano y en donde se juega el futuro de conservar un país en libertad.
La coyuntura actual frente al lastre de un pésimo gobierno y un proceso de paz que arroja más incertidumbres que certezas, además del riesgo de la rapiña ideológica del totalitarismo internacional, ha puesto en inminente peligro nuestra democracia.
Poner a la misma altura moral a personajes siniestros que usaron las armas para reprimir, intimidar, perseguir y chantajear al Estado es, por decir lo menos, haber llevado una soga al cuello de las instituciones de nuestro país.
Pervertir el concepto de justicia para ponerlo como señuelo de una paz inexistente, ha ido en contravía del modelo de Estado Republicano que los demócratas deseamos. Y por causa del sistemático adoctrinamiento de izquierda de la educación en Colombia, se ha tergiversado la historia para sembrar en nuestros jóvenes ideales errados que han sido ya un fracaso en el mundo.
Los venezolanos menores de 37 años, no tuvieron la oportunidad de elegir su futuro y éste les fue impuesto por quienes se equivocaron al optar por Chavez hace casi dos décadas en Venezuela.
Los dictadores se hacen elegir por la vía democrática y luego la carcomen hasta acabarla, convirtiéndola en un disfraz para crear pantomimas a través de las cuales se reeligen indefinidamente.
Debemos defender nuestro modelo republicano de instituciones que garanticen la separación de poderes como requisito para que el ciudadano conserve su libertad. Y donde el imperio de la ley se construya a través de consensos y acuerdos de una sociedad que desea vivir una mejor calidad de vida.
Hoy los colombianos tenemos la inmensa oportunidad democrática de recuperar a Colombia de las fauces amenazantes del comunismo, como también, el enorme riesgo de entregársela con fines totalitarios.
Las fisuras que Santos deja en nuestra ya maltrecha carta constitucional, deben ser reparadas.
